Eliphante

Cornville,

AZ

The assemblage of works by Michael Kahn and Leda Livant derive their collective title from the first structure built here, which has a decidedly animal-like appearance.

As the couple created the work, it developed a long entryway that resembled a trunk. When the artists' landlord noticed the similarity, he jokingly hailed, "Eliphante!" and the name stuck.
